Meet LacyI’ve always been fascinated by what drives people’s beliefs and behaviors, often sensing that pain and suffering linger just beneath the surface for many of us. At just 11 years old, while sitting across from my school social worker, I felt inspired to help others in the same way she was helping me. In that moment, I realized that an empathetic, listening ear could have far more power to heal a broken heart than I’d ever imagined.
Over the course of my career, I’ve come to deeply value the therapeutic potential of meaningful conversations. However, I’ve also witnessed how experiential and somatic therapies can succeed where traditional talk therapy sometimes falls short. Through both personal and professional experiences, my therapeutic style has evolved to incorporate body awareness practices, such as exploring the mind-body connection, intuitive listening, and understanding how our physical health reflects our emotional states. I also employ tangible coping strategies tailored to address specific emotions at their source, drawing on formal training in trauma-focused modalities, including Somatic and Attachment-Focused EMDR. |
As an equine-assisted psychotherapist, I’ve discovered the profound healing potential of partnering with horses and being in nature. Horses serve as intuitive guides, helping both clients and therapists uncover a deeper understanding of themselves and the interplay between internal emotions and the external world. They have a beautiful, thoughtful way of highlighting imbalances for us in a way other humans cannot. As an animal enthusiast, I also love hearing how my clients’ pets bring them comfort, peace, and healing. I often incorporate these special relationships into therapy, encouraging clients to lean into their connections with animals and nature as part of their journey.
